Greensboro goes pink Sept. 25

Pretty in Pink event returns to Westover Gallery of Shops

Greensboro—What makes a woman feel good? Maybe it’s an indulgent massage, or a new handbag filled with goodies. Maybe it’s a sample of wine and a day of shopping with friends. Maybe it’s the knowledge that she did something to help save the lives of women in her community.

Skirt! Greensboro magazine will offer women the chance to enjoy all these and more at its second annual Pretty in Pink event, on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 10am to 4pm at Westover Gallery of Shops.
And while we want women to feel pretty, we’re committed to helping them feel healthy as well. That’s why we’re donating proceeds from our silent auction, raffles and Creative Containers handbag sales to the Mammography Scholarship Fund at Women’s Hospital, which provides mammograms to local uninsured women.

“Early, accurate detection is so key in the fight against breast cancer,” says editor Nora Shoptaw. “The Mammography Scholarship Fund gives all women the best care possible, regardless of finances.”

The goodies are better than good—they’re great. A $1raffle ticket buys you a chance at one of our grand prizes: A diamond pendant from Mark Holder Jeweller, a teeth-whitening procedure from Dr. Mark Hyman or a $225 gift certificate from Spoiled Salon. Guests can also bid on a variety of luxurious silent auction items, like a free night’s stay at Proximity Hotel or tickets to a Carolina Panthers game, courtesy of my336deals.com.

And who could resist an adorable pink handbag from Creative Containers, filled with OPI nail polish, Pristine Beauty body butter, gift certificates from Fuel Factor Fitness, Coley Cosmetic & Hand Surgery and ReFab Exchange Boutique and more, all for only $30?

Admission is free, and visitors will also receive free food from Westover Gallery vendors like Brixx Pizza and Chipotle, free wine tastings, free 10-minute massages courtesy of Kneaded Energy School of Massage and free ice cream from Yum Yum’s for those who attend a workshop provided by our sponsors, Moses Cone Health System and Coley Cosmetic & Hand Surgery. Lora Songster of 99.5 WMAG radio will be there, along with dozens of local vendors who can help make women feel good.

Join us Saturday, Sept. 25, for a chance to shop, snack and support local women. Special thanks to WMAG radio, 336 Events, Freedom Mailing & Signs, Piedmont Triad Productions and our sponsors: Moses Cone Health System, Kotis Properties, News & Record and Coley Cosmetic & Hand Surgery.
